Meadows Code of Conduct
Meadows aims to be a safe, relaxed and friendly environment for all our visitors. We would ask that all visitors to the centre abide by the Code of Conduct, detailed below, in the interests of everyone's enjoyment and safety.
Code of Conduct
Meadows consistently aims to maintain high standards and does not permit the following:
- Any intimidation of our visitors by groups or individuals. All large groups who do not have the intention of visiting our retailers to shop will be asked to leave the centre.
- Unsociable behaviour that is detrimental to the centre environment.
- Pets, with the exception of assistance dogs.
- Shopping trolleys on the mall.
- The wearing of any item of clothing which restricts the view of one's head/face (eg. hoods) with the exception of religious headwear.
Ensuring that our guests are free to shop and relax, Meadows does not permit the following:
- Leafleting, canvassing or the conducting of third party interviews or surveys unless authorised by Meadows Centre Management.
- Unauthorised busking or the selling of goods in the mall or Meadows Multistorey car park.
To ensure the health and safety of our guests, Meadows asks that visitors respect and show due consideration for the building, environment and users of this space by:
- Adhering to our no smoking policy within the mall.
- Keeping clear of all fire escapes except in an emergency.
- Not cycling, roller-blading, using micro-scooters or skating in the centre.
- Leaving clear the designated car park spaces for use by our disabled customers.
- Not climbing or sitting on any balustrade, barrier, fence or railing.
- No inappropriate use of the customer lift.
We encourage visitors to enjoy their experience at Meadows and appreciate that visitors may wish to film or take photographs of friends, family and colleagues with during their visit as part of their day out for their own personal and domestic use. We reserve the right, however, to ask visitors not to film or take photographs within the Meadows where we feel that is necessary in the interests of the safety, privacy or enjoyment of other guests or as to prevent any civil or criminal offence being committed.
Visitors must note that commercial photography and filming may only be conducted within the Meadows with the express permission of the Meadows Centre Management team.
If you would like to film or take photos during your visit to the Meadows and have any questions as to what is permitted under this Code, please contact the Meadows Centre Management team, who will be happy to provide further assistance.
The following legal conditions must be adhered to:
- Alcohol is only to be consumed within premises that hold a relevant licence.
- Any act of vandalism towards property belonging to Lend Lease, Chelmsford Meadows Limited Partnership or our retailers will be dealt with accordingly and the Police will always be informed.
- Clear access routes must be maintained for emergency services
Chelmsford Meadows Limited Partnership reserves the right to deny a person/persons from entering the property and has the right to escort them off the site. In addition to this, any person who persistently ignores any of the above or commits a crime will be excluded, for a time period to be determined by Meadows Centre Management, from the centre.
