National Clean Air Day 2017
This Thursday 15th June, we are celebrating National Clean Air Day. This is the UK’s first ever National Clean Air Day, and a chance for everyone in Chelmsford and the whole country to come together and improve air quality and create cleaner air. The three areas they’re keen to focus on are to reduce the amount of air pollution we create, to talk and join forces to beat pollution together and to avoid harmful air pollution.
If you’re looking for ways you can be involved and to do your bit for National Clean Air Day why not set yourself a pledge for what you’re going to do on 15th June? You could walk your children to school instead of taking the car, or have a meeting outside of the office, or simply enjoy eating your lunch outside.
At The Meadows we have lovely cafes and restaurants that offer outdoor seating including Wildwood, Costa, BB’s and Giraffe, so you can enjoy your coffee or sandwich in the beautiful fresh air. Go alfresco with Giraffe’s delicious lunch menu offering exotic meals for only £6.95, available between noon and 5pm.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a flat white or frappe coffee drinker, take it ‘to-go’ and maybe sit by the waterside by Backnang Square for a quieter place to sit in the heart of the city. Or maybe try Muffin Breaks’ delicious vegan friendly wrap with Houmous and Roasted Red Pepper and find a nice spot to sit on the high-street. Especially with the weather getting warmer now, we can really enjoy this beautiful fresh air!
If you’ve got the opportunity to use public transport to get into the city instead of driving your on Thursday, maybe this is a good reason! We know it’s not always viable, but anybody can take steps to limit the air pollution they produce and stop it from damaging their health and that of their family.
