The Brazilian steakhouse and carvery restaurant ‘Preto’ will be opening at the high-street entrance of The Meadows in early 2018. Works to fit out the unit start soon with the opening planned before Easter.
The flagship store opened in London Victoria in 2007 and there are now 10 branches of Preto in the UK, with 3 more restaurants set to open this year too.
The restaurant describes itself as “a dining experience like no other” by providing its guests with a distinctive way of ordering and receiving their food. The principle of the rodizio is an all you can eat style where diners pay a fixed price and use a two sided disk to control the pace of their meal. The green side signals the Passador (waiter) to serve up more meat; the red indicates a pause or stopping point.
The lunch and dinner menus feature an unlimited serving of up to 15 different cuts of spit roasted meats, all slow roasted over an authentic Brazilian Barbeque. They are then presented on skewers and carved fresh at the tableside, and can be accompanied with a variety of salads and rice and pasta dishes from a well-stocked salad bar.
Sue Patel, Centre manager from The Meadows says
“Preto joins Wildwood, Giraffe and Faces Bar and Kitchen to become the fourth restaurant at the Meadows and we can’t wait for it to bring a taste of Brazil to our Chelmsford shoppers and diners!”
Michelle Kindon from Preto adds
“We are very happy to be part of the Meadows family and are looking forward to becoming part of something the local community will enjoy and benefit from. Our staff live, work and are part of Chelmsford and we very excited to be opening here soon.”
